Sounds like a great bike for you Dave.
No sweating trying to kick start for 10 mins like the 450 in Sort!!

Re: 11th anniversary of Europe and Morocco trip - Review
Nice photos. April /May in the Pyrénées can be very mixed. Some passes / cols are not open until sometime in June. It's clearing the snow and repairing the roads from the many avalanches. Weather can be all 4 seasons in a couple of days. Still having snowfalls at altitude!! The Cirque de Gavarnie is...

Re: the moto piston rally
A great few days spent on the Moto Piston Rally. Lots of great classic bikes. Did it in 2012 on the Triumph T120 Bonneville (1965) Had a great time riding around the Santander region and the Picos. A very well organised event with over 300 bikes. Not sure of the date you attended Alan. I did the 201...

Re: Bikers love a fry up...

You just can't get the caterers, that's the problem... I think we eat well and drink very well in Sort. No complaints yet !! Burger nigh...

Re: My bike in the mountains
Fond memories of pierre st Martin....used to take the kids skiing there when they were younger, and the road up to it is proper biking hairpins. Be nice to go back one day....covid permitting. Cheers for that Will. Ridden up there lots of times on the bike, great roads around there and into Spain. ...

Re: My bike in the mountains
Good effort Will, you international person smuggler ! We'll get back there eventually. I was thinking of penciling in an 'optimism date' for Sort this year ? Saturday 4th Sep until Friday 10th? What do you think? Of course it may well not be possible, but if the vaccination and lockdown stars align...

Re: My bike in the mountains
Tried a few cols in the Pyrénées last week to see if was possible to get over to Spain. Turned away by Gendarmes and road blocks. Closest was the Col Pierre St Martin at 1800m managed park and walk over the border into Spain!!. But the road/route blocked by a snow barrier and Route Barrée signs. A g...

Re: Goretex Suit Query
September in the Pyrénées is a great month. Most of the August traffic has gone and the roads are normally clear. The weather is normally good and a normal vented riding suit is best with a rain cover if it does rain. Can be a bit cooler as you pass over the cols at over 1800/2000m. Always warmer on...

Re: London to Dakar 1986
Very interesting adventure Chris, it was really a true adventure in those days, really enjoyed reading and great photos. No guide books and GPS in those days, paper maps that weren't accurate I assume.. Managed Morocco twice but on modern bikes 1200GS and then a 650 Dakar. But still laiden with camp...
