Re: Main Bearings Idenitification
Thanks all for the replies. i too have used Simply Bearings for many years as it happens, so I asked them the same question. They had not seen an "SH" marking but also suggested C3 types are normally marked. I'm sure two-strokes I've rebuilt in the past use C3 mains, maybe as they don't h...

Re: Main Bearings Idenitification
They are 6306 as stamped on the sides which is a bearing conforming to international standards if you want to confirm. C3,4&5 have extra clearance to cope with high heat and expansion, C2 are tighter clearance and would be marked 6306C2. Generally bearings are normal clearance unless marked othe...

Re: W2 Touring Adventure Boots
Have a look at the Fly maverick ATV boot, it an mx style boot but shorter length more like a touring boot. They are quite generous on size too so while relatively stiff I can fit a gel insole to making them a bit more forgiving when walking and the shorter length seems to allow a bit more ankle move...

Re: CCM 404 DS starting problem
Sorry way late to this thread......but as a CCM 404 owner. There is the 2 breather tubes on the carb which normally hang down and cause the carb to air lock when the ends get submerged in water crossings stalling the bike. A common mod it to reroute one or both up high under the tank. Pinching those...

Re: Himalayan Compass?????
The guy in the RE dealers said the compass will be fine if you’re away from every object with a magnetic field. I said “so that means it will work properly almost nowhere in the uk?” He laughed and said “yep” Ignition coil, …… alternator, …… starter motor, ……. starter solenoid, ……. horn must all wo...

Re: SWM Superdual Owner here??
Hi,
Not answering your request directly as I don't have the SWM. But, have you considered the google translate app which can use the camera on your phone or tablet to translate a written document.
I assume apple probably have something similar on iPhone if your not of the android persuasion!

COMPRESSOR TALK
There should be a non return valve at the point the pipe enters the tank. When the switch cuts out it should dump the pressure between the compressor and that check valve so there is no load on the motor when it starts up. May be that check valve is leaking so the motor cannot overcome the pressure ...

Great find africanik - copy downloaded and stored away just in case (thumbs) @Tim - "I prefer things that "just work." Life is too short to be messing around like this." Don't disagree with the sentiment, but as you have found with Mapsource, sometimes the mass-market just don't ...

Adrian Flux are terrible took out a car policy online through a comparison site, only to discover when the paper work arrived it did not cover commuting. Rang them to sort it day before the policy started and they wanted 98 quid to upgrade the policy or 70 admin fee for cancelling. Nowhere in the qu...
