Re: a debate,re dosh abroad?

Hi Al I've not tried a pre-paid one as always managed to find one that doesn't charge commission for overseas purchases. The last time I changed (2 yrs ago) the Post Office card was the most recommended one. Let us know how you get on with the pre-paid card as it would be a good way to keep track of...

Re: A Different Kind Of Adventure

If you fancy another similar day, try the route in reverse, I think the ascent of Swirral is better than coming down it and I think you have the better views coming down Stridding rather than going up it, looking out over Ulswater. The bad step/little chimney bit is also nicer climbing up than desc...

Re: Tyrant down.

I broke my arm on an off road day 2 yrs ago when I was high sided riding down a rocky step - drove me mad cos I couldn't tie my own hair back.

The worst bit though was the black bruise on my bum - not even the nurse in A&E got to see that one

Re: Tyrant down.

Ramblers! Just like buses - none to be seen when you need one yet they travel in packs when you don't! Sorry to read about your adventure but glad to see you still have your sense of humour :) Re the eye-liner you could always take the opportunity for a pamper session at the salon and ask them to pu...

Re: How to uprate your rear spring on a F800GS

Thanks for posting this - your original post and your advice gave us the confidence to replace the springs on our bikes this weekend and all went smoothly. I would recommend the spring tool - not sure I could have managed with ratchet straps as I'm not that strong. I believe you can 'buy' them and t...

Re: Eagles and a bad neck

Had a pair of Griffen Vultures swoop in front of my bike in the Pyrenees last year - was so shocked by how big they were close up I nearly missed the corner  I hadn't realised how magnificent or how big they were until they flew that close. Stunning to watch them circling in the thermals but ...

Re: Eagles and a bad neck

Sorry to hear about your neck and that you may be off the bike for a while Spud.

People keep trying to tell me that riding a bike is dangerous - guess this proves its less dangerous than bird watching ;)

Hope you recover quickly

Jane
