Sump Guard

KTM optional extra. Pretty sturdy and been tested with mud mounds and branches already. Looks OK too.


Had lots of fun fitting mine. Not. Bolt holes didn't seem to line up even with everything loose.

And then this weekend had hours of more fun taking it off again for the bikes first ...

If the speedo drive is off the front, then will change by 21 seventeenths.
And if off rear, by 18 seventeenths.
That's it simply, but tyre aspect will alter the ratio. Best to measure the circumference of each set up for a better ratio.
If you're bothered, work out with a calculator various ...

Footpeg lowering brackets were being fabricated by Martyred on Advrider, or could make your own

Also, check your coolant level. These bikes have a habit of "self bleeding" in the first 1000 miles, but then settle down. I also inserted a tap washer in top of expansion ...

Bar Risers

Only thing I haven't quite mastered are the bar risers. I'm 6'1" and have KTM 52mm risers on but about 10mm too low. Not stopping me getting out and about or standing up but think comfort could be improved slightly. Waiting for products or web content to give me some clues. Had the 40mm ...

i need to do this to the footpegs on my 1290 r, need to lower them by 20-25mm where did you buy the lowering brackets, cheers

I got them from a guy called Martyred on advrider. He also sells a side stand relocation kit.

I fitted footrest lowering brackets. Certainly helps when stood up (and more comfortable on long runs)

Other option is to use Renthal bars - various lifts, widths, bends etc available.
