Re: Two wheels and a fishing rod

Enjoyed your report. I also like to pack a fishing outfit when away on the bike. A telescopic rod all set up & ready to fish. Keep it on top of kit in side pannier, so quick access and with it already set up with lure attached, can be fishing within minutes (mainly trout fishing). Your set-up sound...

Re: Two wheels and a fishing rod

I agree wholeheartedly with the comments about the right riding gear to deal with the weather, and on the whole the gear I had did its job well. My Daytona Roadstar boots took everything that was thrown at them and came up shining -- didn't let in a drop of water. Similarly, the Rev'it rain jacket a...

Two wheels and a fishing rod

Well, after many years of saying "One of these days I'm going to ride to Nordkapp" I finally bit the bullet and did it. Not the world's most successful trip -- the weather was foul for much of the time, and I did too many long days in the saddle rather than chilling and taking the time to really enj...

I use a givi tank lock ? One on the s10 as it sits on top so I don't get the problem you describe. Trade off is its not large but it does for me.
Not an option on the 800 GS, as I don't think there is any way to mount the tank lock. But I may be wrong.

Tank bag for F800GS

I currently have the BMW original tank bag for my F800GS, but on my recent trip through Finland and Norway I found it got in the way when trying to ride standing up. Which was annoying as it meant I could not take advantage of all the lovely unsurfaced roads in those two countries. Can anyone recomm...

Re: Norway 2016

Steve great wee RR and photos, I'm hoping to do the Nordkapp thing next year as a matter of interest what would the average cost of the ferries in the Fjiords cost I know Norway isn't the cheapest of places to visit. Norrie I can't remember accurately, but the short ones across the fjords weren't t...

Re: Is there such a thing as a perfect adventure tyre

anakee 2 are amazing tyres, im on my 5th set, they were discontinued when the anakee 3 came out. but so many people complained including me to michelin, they re introduced it. best tyre out there 100% (thumbs) I had a set of Anakee 2s fitted to my 800GS and loved them - did everything that I wanted...

Hi Ripper, thanks for the reply.

How have you mounted the main unit? Clamp or stick-on patch?

Bluetooth headset for BMW System 6 helmet?

BMW's own bluetooth setup seems way overpriced - does anyone here know of an alternative that will mount well on the System 6 helmet?

EDZ Yeti fleece or Knox Cold Killers Winter Jacket?

Anyone have any experience with either or both of these two 'mid layers'?

I have a BMW GS Dry jacket and am looking for a packable warm layer for a trip to northern Norway in the summer.

Any recommendations?

Cheers,

Paul
