Re: Getting rid of rust from inside a petrol tank.....tips please

There is some solution available especially for classic bikes which seals the inside of the tank. Can't remember the name but I have seen it for sale at classic bike shows. Try googling petrol tank sealer and see what comes up.

Re: winter engine running temp

The difference between old car and a modern bike engines is in the material used. Most car engines of forty years ago would have been iron blocks and cylinder heads where bikes have aluminium ones. In the winter they would normally run too cold. Most cars would need to have part of the radiator bloc...

Re: Be carefull out there !!!

Should always do a pre-ride P.O.W.D.E.R. check. "Petrol, Oil, Water, Damage, Electrics, Rubber" and the last one, a "rolling brake check" as you pull away! Takes less than a couple of minutes, could save your life, or at least your bank balance.

Hope he recovers quickly.

Re: Used Zumo 550 Help

I would give Garmin a ring on 0808 238 0000. They will probably require the unit serial number and where you bought it from. If the unit has been registered to the original owner they will have their details. They will be able to tell you the legalality of the maps. Try them they are really helpful.

Great bike T.T. I had one that colour. My wife still thinks it's the best colour for a GS. They take time to get used to but the more you ride it the better it will seem. Enjoy it both of you.

Re: Long way round,yeah,right!

I think this forum is starting to go the same way as others. Who cares what people ride, why can't we just accept that not everyone has the same opinion, thank god. I have had KTM and GS's, I just happen to prefer GS and like I have said before, the first GS was two years before the LWR TRIP. People...

Re: Road riders here

I haven't booked a camp site because at my age camping's not good unless weather is warm, so it's a ride up and get b & b if I can. If I'm there it will be tarmac all the way. Bike is on road tyres and needs to get me home. Defo a tourist route with coffee and lunch stops would be great. Mileage...
