Re: I need your support

Pressure will push out the liquid which has already got to the tap, but it won't do much to push all those little droplets on the inner surface of the bag towards the tap.

What you need is centrifugal force. Tie a string to the corner opposite the tap, and then whirl the bag round your head

Re: Front Wheel Bounce

Do you still have the old tube? Might be interesting to cut it open and see if the ant-puncture goo has solidified. In order to make the wheel bounce, the goo would have to get so thick that it clumped together. As long as it was able to spread itself around the wheel, it wouldn't affect the balance.

Re: The BMW G310GS thread.

Lee is your rear rack the same as the one in rally raid pic as that may be preventing the side rack from being bigger angle.. I wondered about that as well - in the pic with the Land Rover, it looks as though the top corner of the side rack actually meets the top rack. Looking at the other two pics...

Re: The BMW G310GS thread.

Should the luggage plate be spaced away from the bike a bit? At the moment, it seems that a pannier on that side could touch the exhaust. Surely the luggage plate should prevent that? Moving the plate a couple of inches further out would give clearance between the exhaust and the plate and prevent a...

Re: Recommendations for Garage Lighting

You give your location as Santa Clara - is that the one in California? Or is there another one I haven't heard of? I ask because I think the USA has a 110V mains electric supply. The UK (and I think the rest of Europe) runs on 240V mains electricity. Will that difference affect the way that differen...

Re: Covid 19 Coronavirus

This maybe because all countries are testing at a greater rate. This definitely influences apparent infection rates. If you only test patients in hospital, you will have a very high infection rate because almost all those people will test positive. A few will test negative, because they have a seve...

Re: How to improve your riding...Most important riding skill?

I think that many people have misread the question. It seems that many people are answering the question "what is the most important riding skill?", and I would go along with Yoyo - observation. That underpins so many other aspects of riding But the question actually asks "what do I m...

Re: not a proper adventure bike

A few seconds of gloating, before the voices in my head will start to whisper about incidents in my past. The time I lost the front wheel on loose gravel in a car park ... those times I forgot to remove the disc lock ... the time I stopped at a junction with really awkward camber and my right foot c...

Re: Any advice how to ride with a broken 5th metatarsal on your right foot?

Carefully? Use pain as your guide? Maybe wear dirtbike boots or something that will hold your foot in place better and provide more protection and support? I hope it heals up nicely for you! I was having exactly the same thoughts as I read this. Wear boots which will offer maximum support, and if i...
