Re: Ted Simon .the old days.

First travel book I read was Jupiters Travels after trying to listen to him speak in a tent at the BMF member rally in 97 but the twats had put him in a smaller tent near the main one. I liked that book and never really enjoyed any other bike travel book since. There seem to be alot of people who th...

Re: new Africa Twin - perfect adventure bike?

not being able to switch off the ABS completely though. Made the mistake of leaving my ABS on the 1150SE once whilst off roading and when I got to a steep rocky downhill section I nearly shit myself. Can't see how anyone would want it fixed on an 'adventure' bike. Not this time though ... it's just...

And thats a good reason to ride something else JB, every other bike I see at the weekend is a 1200GS. If your going to get one get an 1150 Adv (if you buy a standard one you'll always regret not having that fat tank).

Re: BMW GS.... is it time to have one?

I particlarly like the 1150 but that is based purely on looks. Serious question.... even though I know the GS isn't designed for it but when in those lovely Alpine passes I am usually hammering the knackers off my poor Tiger to keep up with mates as we do like to crack on..... will the GS be better...

He had it right ...

Saw a chap on a lovely looking 750 yesterday. Sat at the end of a gravel track where it joined the road checking a paper map!. The bike looked in lovely condition, had ali boxes fitted, he didn't look like he'd just walked out of a clothing showroom and it was the first 'adventure' bike thats turned...

Re: Aggro Topics

Why can I spot a GS rider approaching from about 1/2 mile away, could it be those 4 extra forward facing lights that have of course only been fitted for safety purposes rather than being pointless crap and money wasted adding undeeded weight to an already lardy and overweight 'adventure' motorcycle,...

Re: Jeremy Corbin

I think Clarkson stands more chance of being elected as PM, than 'your Jezza' any day of the week... Sadly given the amount of fuckwits who made such a big deal about a bloke being sacked from his job for assaulting someone and hero worshipping three tired presenters on TV, you may well be right. P...
