I think in the middle of nowhere you'd have just as much chance of finding bits for a Fi '96 gs1100 as you would a '05 ktm950 carbed model, the technologies cross over by a fair few years, i'd be happy with either, you just have to know the bike well, there's plenty more to fail on any bike!

Used to do this on my old 1100gs bmw, works a treat if you're out of stove fuel, wrap your bacon in tin foil wrap it around the header pipe, warm your engine up...cooked bacon.

There are so many riders out there all wanting the same thing ..... the 690 in a rallye style frame! I can see why people go for the tenere, this new ktm may turn out to be excellent and it's certainly done one thing already, it's turned the 950adv into an iconic classic.
