Re: BMW F800 GS Restricted

Another vote for the Sertao here...........Its not a size thing either, I'm 6' 4" and run a 1200ADV but mostly use the Sertao for nipping around, back lane ability and general cheapness to run

Less is more with the 'littlest GS'

Having said that the F800GS is a cracking bike!

Re: Touring ~ Solo or in a Group?

Mostly solo for me and I often meet folk out on the road.............Cycling or motorcycle touring I'm happy enough on my own but have often met folk and have ridden along with for a while! Riding mostly in Iceland early season or Europe at the end of October there aren't that many people touring at...

Re: Iceland

Fantastic.............Cycled 600 miles last month in the coldest spring weather for 37 years in Iceland and a good celebration for my tenth trip to The Land of Ice and fire. Headwinds were terrible and I was blown completely off the road at one point! Scenery was as amazing as ever but I still wish ...

Re: Landrover

Always had them on the farm...............Noisy, drafty, slow, leaks in the rain but they're tough as old boots and if you look after the chassis with loads of Waxoyl and old John Deere oil it'll last forever............My last 90 TD5 'Utility' was stolen and I replaced it with this which I took on ...

Re: Tubeless Puncture Repair

Stop n go for me too...........Even use it on the farm quadbike(a lot) I've used several wee 12v compressors over the years most of which have packed up eventually as I was using them to blow up my tractor trailer tyres. My most reliable pump has been a Michelin footpump which doesn't need electrici...

Re: Touring quads

My Honda has a maximum speed of around 55mph but will cruise single track at around 45 no problem which is mostly fast enough for a single cylinder AG machine. I have the clunky 5-speed manual gearbox aswell whereas most of the biggere quats are semi automatic/cvt etc with electronic 4x4. On gravel ...

Re: Touring quads

I use a road legal Honda 420 Fourtrax quadbike on the farm and I've toured with my friends Can-Am 800 in Iceland where they're just about the best tool for the job

Re: TKC 80 or Karoo3

TKC80's all the time on my 1200GSA for me...........Been using them on my bikes since 2002 with the odd pair of Tourances which I've changed very quickly! Getting over 5k miles out of a rear TKC80 as they wear down near the limit and seem to stay there a long time. The front does wear the back of th...
