Re: aberdeen area , loan of bike ramp

Use a ladder and a bit of ply wood to get the 1150GS into the van. Secure the ladder from slipping with bungee cords No need to buy anything for just the one use.

Re: Considering Commute on Royal Enfield, Mad?

I commute 55 miles each day on an 1150 GS. ABS,spot lights,50 MPG and servicing every 10,000 miles. Have muffs and a Gaucho to keep me warm and wally flaps to keep feet dry. Not the cheapest to buy but easy to service and will run for a long time if you get a good one. Good luggage capacity - regula...

Re: Time for a change....

1150 GS can be dirt cheap to run and easy to look after. If you are in London, Steptoe is the man for quality work at very good prices. Yes, there are worries about drive shafts etc but all down to luck really. You can get a good one for £3000, 50 mpg and service it for around £70 basic every 5000 t...

Off road biking day for a group

Looking for an off road biking day for a group of mates. Most of them do not have a bike licence. Can anybody recommend a good place for a day out on the bikes that is not too expensive?

I need to start learning to ride off road and it might also get a couple of mates into biking.

Cheers

Re: Waterproofs is there such a thing???

I commute 55 miles every day, all year round and I had trouble finding a dry solution for my seat area! Now, you might think this looks silly but it works really well http://www.adventurebikewarehouse.co.uk/rider-gaucho-p-405.html Only good if you are staying on the road but goes a long way to keepi...

Re: What non open faced helmet has the biggest field of vision?

I found my new Caberg Ego to be one of the best for side to side vision, better than my old Tour X. The Tour X was a lot louder and has a big gap between the chin bar and head. Could this increased noise and ventilation help reduce the closed in feeling as it feels more open? The helmet with the ste...

Re: Hi from London

Today the GS spat out a litre of oil all over my right foot. Might not be able to make Sunday now and am sad about that. Good news is I now have the go ahead from the other half to buy a second bike :) Quite fancy a trail bike as I did an off road day using a CRF230 and had amazing fun. Has any body...

Hi from London

New to the site and really impressed how open and friendly it seems on here. I ride an 1150GS and am looking for the perfect bike to compliment the big pig! Currently I brew beer for a living and plan to do a big bike trip next year visiting breweries in a few different countries. If I see any of yo...
