Re: Osco chain oiler
I considered one of these a few years ago. Walter Colebatch and a few others fitted them for some of their more extreme trips. They were mentioned in their ride reports. I thought if they can cope with that kind of abuse, they must be worth a look. They are very well engineered, and simple to use. Y...

Re: BMW ESA suspension rebuild - Firefox Racing
That's not a bad price. The shock is a conventional shock so any good suspension shop can rebuild them. Although many won't. The ESA acts like an electronic screwdriver. It is basically a servo motor that adjusts the damping screw and preload to predetermined settings. One point to note about refitt...

Re: Shoei Adventure Helmet
I've had one for just over a week. I bought a new Hornet last year. Trying in on in the shop it felt comfy. But, after around an hour of riding it starts to eat my ears. I also found that having to remove the peak to change visors is a pain. The new Hornet ADV is a completely different helmet. It is...

Re: Shoei Hornet ds fogging problems
I have used my Hornet through the winter and never had a problem with fogging. It is important to get the pinlock adjusted properly by adjusting the pins. Because of the visor shape, you need a lot of tension on the pinlock to seal it properly. It takes a few goes to get it right. On really cold day...

Re: Online mapping
I tend to use http://tourstart.org/. It is easy to use with how to videos available to get you started. Once you create your route ( or tour as they call it ), you can download it in a variety of file configurations to suit your particular sat nav. I am planning my summer Norway trip at the moment.

Re: Sleeping bag, ALL season extra large recommendations
After trying a few different bags ( I am currently on number 10 ), I am currently using a Lifeventure Downlight 900. It has more shoulder room than normal mummy shape bags, and is roomy for the larger gentleman. You can pick them up for less than £85 if you shop around. I have a lovely Outwell synth...

Re: I'm looking for a new tent....any recommendations??
I have a selection of tents ( like most tentaholics). But, the one I tend to use the most for shorter trips is a Vango Mirage 200. You can pick them up for around £90 if you shop around. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vango-Mirage-200-Tent-Cactus-2014-Model-Display-Model-RRP-160-/271732591972?pt=UK_Sport...

Re: Tony Archer seat
I have had a few seats done by Tony. It is worth taking the seat to him and having a chat about exactly what you want. He's a gruff Yorkshireman, but a top guy once you get to know him. I have tried gel inserts, and didn't get on with them. I found they get too hot on summer days and become squishy....

Re: Your honest opinion ??
I had one as my last bike. They are an amazing bike for the money. One you change the fuel line connectors, remove the brown connectors for the rectifier, and upgrade the rectifier for a more modern Mosfet item, they are bulletproof. Mine was written off in a crash on the M25 ( on the way to a Capon...

Re: All tiger xc owners
I have the SW Motech satnav bracket on my bike. It fits well and puts a satnav right where you want it. http://www.bykebitz.co.uk/sw-motech-triumph-tiger-800-gps-mount.html The genuine centre stand is a bit of a pain to use. There are other alternatives Hepco and Becker, SW Motech which may be bette...
