Re: Mobile speed units
Not meaning to be picky, backof but can you point me in the direction of the legislation which says that speedos are allowed to be 10% innacurate? It probably isn't what you meant but this comes from Speed-trap.co.uk - "Vehicle construction and use regulations require a vehicle speedometer acc...

In the meantime, if it's the law I will follow it , if it's not I will follow my own common sense thank you! Well, can't fault you with that. Now, perhaps you could tell me exactly what French law requires me to take with me - either on me or on the bike, when I visit that country. After all, in or...

Re: Mobile speed units
You may get away with it. MPH plus 10% plus 3 50 MPH + 5 + 3 = 58 for ticketing on cameras. Be interested to know where that info comes from. I'd heard that as well and understood it to be because - +10% because speedometers are allowed to be 10% inaccurate in the legislation and +3mph leeway becau...

Great report and your enthusiasm comes through in your writing. By the time I got half way in I was starting to wonder whether I should get one.

I think he should be cooking your tea tbh! Seconded. Although on reflection it depends what his cooking is like, it might be adding insult to injury  Worse thing (so far and apart from seeing myself  ) was the radiator grill of a large truck when I pulled back in after overtaking it a...

It's not only the bikers - I've just got back from a six mile walk, part of which went through our local golf club (you can probably see where this is going!). There must have been 20-30 people playing and it looked like a Bertie Wooster convention with the golf apparel being worn. Apologies to any ...

Same here, I just use it on the fan setting for removing big chunks and then it's down to a brush and a bucket. I never hold it over the spindles or the swinging arm pivot region. Then I use the fan setting to sweep the mud away into next door's drain

OK, now we know where you stand. Let's chuck this open to debate - are we fueling future restrictions with this sort of discussion or should it not be mentioned for fear of giving the politicians ideas?

Nice project Al. I did something similar on my DIY panniers to take fuel cans but not having any sheet ally I used 6" nails! (bent and welded on to form a platform)
