Re: Sold a wreck by another ABR..... What to do ???
I've bought a replacement frame for it now along with a lot of other things to make it safe. He has now offered to pay for the frame. That's all I asked for at the beginning. Which is far more charitable than anyone else would be. That resolution being snubbed in the first place is what has infuriat...

Re: Sold a wreck by another ABR..... What to do ???
I sold a bike to a member of this forum. He paid my full asking price. He then sent the bike to a well respected mechanic and race prep guy to have some mods and farkles fitted. The mechanic turned up some defects that I was unaware of. Not too expensive to correct, but baring in mind he'd paid my ...

Re: Sold a wreck by another ABR..... What to do ???
Small claims could be on the cards. I don't have any documentation to prove it was inspected. Just his word and the name of the dealer. Who I am going to contact tomorrow. I have a long messenger conversation telling me that the bike is straight and true and that it was checked by the dealer after a...

Sold a wreck by another ABR..... What to do ???
What do you do when you're sold a bike which turns out to be essentially an unsafe write-off ??? The bike was bought unseen but from a 'Reputable and honest' acquaintance. The bike had been promised and assured to be straight, in good rideable condition and with the promise that it had been professi...

For Sale - Yamaha TDM 900. Cheapest best condition example in the UK.
Hi all. I'm selling my 2003 TDM900. It's a very straight and tidy touring bike. Fantastic for road touring the UK and Europe. Excellent MPG, comfort and great for Two-up. Far quicker and much more reliable than a Bavarian break-down. Only selling due to buying a new bike that I can't afford. https:/...

Re: 'The Big Trip' - What's yours?
It's certainly not easy to get away on long bike trips. I was lucky. I spent my 20's and early 30's riding around the world. No cares, no responsibilities and little regard for the future. I rode up and down South America, Uk-Capetown and all over Europe. I canoed the Yukon and backpacked around Ind...

Re: Prepping F800GS for a long trip
Hi.. If you're doing any off-roading, you might want to consider upgrading your Rims. They tend to suffer badly and bend when anyone takes these off-roading. The rims are a cheap budget item on the bike and were never intended for off-roading. Like someone said, the stator is a weakness on these too...

Re: March Moto Madness (Wales) 2017
I don't think people have any problem with the costs. It sounds like it's WELL worth it and if anyone else was putting it together it would cost you £300.. The organiser is being a top bloke by NOT ripping people off because no doubt the GS brigade would pay £500 if it meant they could have another ...
