Re: Wuthering Height

A day of getting on and off to open and close gates etc on a taller bike is knackering. One of the most useful skills there is is to learn how to get on and get off a moving bike so as you approach the bike you just step off. Liekwise on the other side of the gate, left foot on the peg, clutch out ...

Re: Wuthering Height

Tamsin Jones is around 5'4 and starts the Tuareg rally tomorrow on a standard KTM four stroke. Lots of people cry for lowering links nad shorter suspension when what they actually need is better riding ability and confidence. I have another mate who rides a 400 exc as stock and he is 5'3. He just sh...

Re: 790 Adv at Fowlers

All this suspension lowering business, you're reducing its effectiveness. Just get a lower seat. Also, the stock suspension will be fine for that use, don't overthink it. If you then find that because you're a god-like rider you reach its limits, look at an aftermarket solution.

Re: Nikwax tent vs Fabrsil Gold?

whatever happened to that guy?

I'd go with the nikwax - as far as I'm aware, the fabsil will prevent any breathability.

Re: Rallying

Bob do yourself a favour and buy new kit. For the difference in price, its not worth buggering about. Go straight to https://www.f2r.pt/

Get the RB750, a normal tripmeter, roadbook plate and bar mount. Small fusebox from an auto elec place, job done.

Re: French 80kmh limits

Why the need for a foot down? I can stop still for a good few seconds without a foot and then carry on. As long as you stop, thats the thing right?

Re: Selling a bike in Spain or Morocco

Tonibe is right - though you could fly out no problem. Its when you were to come back either flight or other and you would be smacked with the import tax based on the NEW value of the bike. So doing what you're suggesting in Morocco is a non-starter.

Re: Request to identify two riders. Heild Lane, Cheshire.

Steve, it's not the same Heild Lane. The one in the pic is in the peaks, and its to the farm that we made the offer on and ultimately pulled out of. The tarmac road leads up to the farm and about half way it branches left to a very well known peaks green lane.
