Re: What do you know about?

I know a lot about placing oil and gas wells in the optimum position for production (I am a project geologist in an oil company) so that's my job but not fun. "I find it....... you burn it"....

I also build wooden surfboards....

Re: Tyre Minefield !!!!

Michelin Anakee 2's all the way from me too. I took them all around Canada and Alaska, Dalton highway etc, no problems. Really good on the gravel roads and wet grip too. I won't be changing from them any time soon.

Re: whats karma?

Karma is a sort of feedback that people give to you for your posts or just some general score they could give you. I think is is something similar to vote up or vote down on other web sites. I think it is great as you can get another person to grow one notch higher in terms of level. Or smite them ...

Re: Puncture Plug

I used the sticky "worm" type on my Strom on the Dalton highway in Alaska, held pressure etc for well over 800 miles until I could get the tyre off. All you do then is stick a rubber patch on the inside of the tyre to prevent air loss. In my opinion, NEATHER method of plug or patch will fi...

Re: fuel consumption AT and what bike is best

Easy way to get a good idea on MOST bikes is have a look here: http://www.fuelly.com/motorcycle/ At what you are looking at: http://www.fuelly.com/motorcycle/bmw/r1200gs So as you can see from a mix of people there is a big range, so its not just the bike but the person. So 39 to 44 MPG would be abo...

Re: Basic self survival first aid training.

Actually the MRTs get NO funding from Government in England and Wales. Ummmm... well that's not quite true. Team's in England and Wales have been able to claim VAT back on fuel etc for a while now up to a total of £200000 (from central funds to cover all units, so each unit gets roughly £2667 direc...

Re: DONT KNOW WHICH ONE A TENERE OR XL700VA HELP

DONT get the Transalp without seeing if it has the tank-slapper bar wobble issues that about 50% have. To test ride along at 35 mph and take your hands of the bars..... on all bikes i have ever owned, nothing happens. On a bad transalp (like I and many others have had) the bars develop a side-to-sid...

Re: Panniers

Allit are a good option if you have less than £200 to spend . Remember for most boxes you also have to add on the cost of the mounting hardware.... EBay Allit stuff comes with the mounts in the price, saving on average £50 a side! I have had my Allit boxes for 4 years been all over with them from th...
