Alloy cases (41/45L) + fuel bottle + solar panel • £290 ~ London

Got these with my latest bike but don’t need them. Suits a bike where the high pipe makes one side wider (like most adv bikes) Hand made in USA I was told, by a bloke off Adv? Nicely welded then looks like anodised / lacquered from 1.5mm sheet. Each one weighs 5.1kg. Feel much more solid than the fl...

Re: Honda 450L

There's been a very similar CRF450XRL here (officially) for a couple of years and since 2013 elsewhere.

Re: Honda 450L

Nearly bought one of those but moved too slow (like a 250?)
Ended up with a nice but clapped-out XR4.

Ten-year old (carb) design but still sold new.
The least fierce of the 450 comp bikes, I believe.

Re: Honda 450L

449cc 40hp @6600 revs torque 30ft lb @ 5200 revs 14-litre tank 3500 mile oil intervals or every 80 hours unlimited milage two year warranty Sounds perfect. Where can I buy one!? On paper the CRF250L doesn't look a great bike - but many ride them and enjoy them and they ride well Also true. Dangerou...

Re: Put me off buying an F650gs

A much under-rated bike, IMO. Seen as something for the 'little lady' while matey rides his GS12. They lent me one done up for Morocco years ago and I must say I really liked it. Compared to a Jap equivalent (ran a 660Z prior), suspension was really good – loved the preload knob. Heavy of course, bu...

Re: Honda 450L

Also assumed a typo and so a bit stunned it's really is down from 60 to 25hp. Less than my old WR250R at about the same weight. it will go 32,000km between major strip downs, with an air filter , oil and oil filter change every 1000km. Makes sense when you add in the missing comma. Who ever changes ...

Re: BMW G310GS in Morocco

I'd sooner go for a Rally as I enjoy easy off-roading. I did a great SW USA dirt tour on the original 250L a few years back but I'd not spend all that money on a new small bike. Consider a used KLX250S for £2-3k. Well under 140kg afaik and proper stock suspension. Had a carb one in the US for a bit....

Re: BMW G310GS in Morocco

Well it's not an agile trail bike but at 6 1, I actually found standing only a slight stoop. Whatever I ride I need risers, but it was the 310's narrow pegs which forced me to sit down after a while. If anything, the bulky tank covers put your weight further back which slows down cornering off road....

Re: BMW G310GS in Morocco

Jak - I thought seat was the lowered option but it's not. That will just be a sheet of tin foil. Comparison with XR is a bit chalk and cheesy, but that will be the small-bike rental choice for my Mk tours. Mink - thanks. Re: CRFs vs 310 - stick with what you got. Thought of that conversion myself bu...
