Re: The Yamaha Tenere thread

I love ktm's (I own one) and was excited when the 790 was announced..... but boy I think they are fugly! Not keen on low tanks and front is too 'transformers like'. Pity as I hoped for a kind of 690 rally bike look. Was too keen on T7 either at first but white one changed that when seen in flesh.

Re: My wish for the Ténéré 700

Blue of first bike is much nicer. New rally one just muses the mark. One thing I'd like to see is the speed block design a bit higher so it runs through the tank too....

How on earth do you cover 55k kms on a bike and keep it looking like that? Very impressive.

You can eat your breakfast off the cylinder heads just before setting off on a ride...
No salt etc on roads in winter

Still annoyed with myself for selling mine. If I'd not bought a xt500 I'd have been very tempted. Just no more room in the garage 😐

Re: Led cree lights

I had this on my photobucket. It shows how I connected my fuse board on my bike using a relay that got power from rear light. It then switches supply to fuse pack. All accessories connected will only run when bike is switched on. http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l33/redbikejohn/mobile/IMAG0211.jpg

Re: Rear shock service intervals...... When did you last get it serviced.

Enduro riders its once a year. Street bikes (in all their guises) tend to just be left until it goes wrong. Plenty of the cheaper oe shocks aren't very serviceable. I think the fact that most shops will have to send it off to a specialist means that most owners dont bother until it leaks oil or beg...

Re: Led cree lights

Well you can connect to the battery but they will be on all the time lol! Ok pop a switch on too and you can switch on and off as you like but again this is a receipt for disaster as you are bound to leave on at some point. The best way is to fit a small relay that comes on when the bike is running ...

Re: Electric MTB

Probably not until there is some sort of incident and then it'll be a 'deadly de-restricted' mtb menace plaguing paths storyline and plenty of indignation in press with resulting knee jerk reaction in law.
