I'm on my second Versys 1000. Had a 2013, now have a 2016.Nither have given any problems. Great bikes plenty of torque even full load with camping gear and a pillion, and the mrs. loves the room and comfort.

Versys 1000 for me. I'm 5'7" and have no problems with weight and seat height. Had mine 6 weeks already have 2500 miles on. my daughter loves the comfort. I use trax pannier's. I had the same problem, I got round it by using a deep 1/4 drive socket, as you look at the sprocket put one end of the socket on one of the teeth on the right hand side the other end rest against the frame.
