Range

Having 2 bikes that do over 250miles to a tank (Transalp & v-strom both 650) makes anything that needs fuel before 200miles feel like a PITA.
I'm not saying that I never stop before 250, just that I don't need fuel until then.

I hate stoppping to fill up ;)

Re: uk great road ride web sites?

Russ, I am thinking of doing a ride up through Wales soon, I need to see if I'm fit enough to do a bit of distance and check out my luggage situation. I know some good back roads up to Bala/Lake Vyrnwy area, I was going to camp somewhere and then ride back the next day, I would prefer to do weekday...

Transalp 650 Alloy panniers & Touratech pannier frames

As above, I'm selling my Alpos panniers & Touratech frames to fit all year 650 Transalp. The panniers are 36ltr each but not overly wide, come with quick attach pucks, carry handles, lockable catches & tie down loops on the lids. I have braced them with an alloy plate inside to give extra ri...

Re: Can you simmer on a coleman sportster?

The key with these stoves is to keep them clean I can simmer with mine without any problems I use one of those foldable wind shields and just wrap this around the stove so the burner stays hot even when using low flame I love my 522 stove, initially had trouble simmering but now, like Paul, use a f...

Re: Honda Cross Runner

I bought the Crossrunner that Jim mentions, purely on the back of 1 'have a go' ride on a friend's bike. I was hooked, even though I wasn't looking/couldn't afford a new bike. New (high) prices have plumetted, a bike with warranty & sensible miles can be had for just over 5k (maybe a sign of the...

Re: Transalp 650 Tank Range?

Hi, as said the fuel gauge reads the last half of the tank & works well once you get used to it. From memory I get about 40 miles from the red, once the gauge goes out of the red, about 25miles, when the gauge hits the stop & doesnt fluctuate, I reckon on about 10 miles until you are pushing...
