Re: Thieving scum mean hardening the target
We live in a quiet area but I guess the scumbags are travelling further afield to find their targets. John I'm not sure how much this relates to the UK, but I found this discussion very interesting: https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/t5shp/ex_thief_chopshop_operator_ama It's an ex-profes...

Re: Thieving scum mean hardening the target
Is the garage alarmed, and do you have a ground anchor and big hard to crop (almax/pragmasis) chain and decent lock already? If not, they might be a better investment than CCTV? It strikes me as better to try to catch them at it, or stop them taking it in the first place, than to be watching them do...

Re: GPS 12v connector and accessory plugs
What you have to look for is_ It is not reversible +/- Waterproof Designed to handle the required power load = Amps Easy to install Try to get a connecter with an attached cover to protect the connector when not using it. Also try to get a connector with a click lock so that it cannot vibrate loose...

Re: GPS 12v connector and accessory plugs
P.S. If you need grommets and can't find the exact size you want, if you do a search for "oogoo" you might find that some help. It's a formula for very easily making cheap quick setting silicone rubber putty from cheap silicone sealant. You can buy premade "sugru" which is someth...

Re: GPS 12v connector and accessory plugs
I used the AMP superseal style in a couple of places I wanted power points, and for a blank off cover, I cut off some of the bulk from the back of the male connector to make it smaller (like the last one pictured in your post) and filled the wire entry holes with expoxy putty to finish off where I c...

Re: Auxiliary fuse box
Bluesea fuse boxes. Not waterproof in the slightest. Careful you don't loose the screws as they are unf thread. Not so easy to get here and they are made for the marine market so will be two three times the price of anything else out there. That's handy to know. I know they're common in the US, but...

Re: Auxiliary fuse box
My new bike had a centec fuse box fitted when I got it. It's nice having a single relay controlling the whole fuse box to connect accessories that are switched with the ignition , and while it seems to be working fine so far, I'm not so keen on the way accessory wires are connected to it (apart from...

Re: STOLEN AFRICA TWIN RD04 - NORTH EAST UK (TYNE AND WEAR)
Just remembered I should update this thread. A couple of weeks back got a phone call from the police to say a dog walker found it dumped in a field in the early hours near Newcastle Airport (a fair distance away). They seemed a bit puzzled it was there (as am I because if it was going to be dumped i...

Re: Africa Twin - MOSFET conversion.
P.S. Just did a quick google and this thread: http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?207174-Honda-CBR600RR-Mosfet-Rectifier-Mod/page27 a post suggests that the FH0012 is used on the varadero. Perhaps its possible newer varaderos use that regulator as standard? If thats the case you might ...
