My current front tyre is a Chinese Tourance. I've had several sets before this, but all German manufacture. This current tyre is now on an advisory on MOT having done fewer miles than the previous sets.

To anyone put off by the milege can I point out that mine (99 model) is still running nicely with 142,000 miles on the clock.

You haven't mentioned your level of fitness and agility. Can you still get your leg over? (literally) Adventure bikes tend to be rather tall. You can, of course haave a great time on a 'step-through' or a scoot.

I haven't changed mine yet. Maybe I'm lucky or maybe it was down to changing oil every 3--4k miles. Which, now I come to think of it is a bloody lot of oil. I should mention that my 99 SD01, which had 14,000 miles when I bought her, now has just shy of 141,000 miles. The valve clearances have never ...
