Re: Sealskinz Heated Waterproof Gloves.

I had a pair sealskin gloves many years ago (15 years) which lasted about 2 years of greenlaning and rallies. They were very good at keeping your hands/fingers dry which helped keep some cold at bay but they were not that good for warmth generally. I now prefer the yellow leather rigger type gloves ...

Re: Ferries are filling up fast !!!

It works out roughly the same on price to use the ferry or ride down, having ridden down there (but not back) I chose the ferry every time. Sometimes it seems like Brittany Ferries has worked their prices out to be on a par with the cost to drive/ride down but the fact that they are still in busines...

Re: Dew Point In Simple Terms

I think there are too many variables to accurately surmise what the road conditions will be like on a commute to work. The temperature can drop by 3 or 4 degrees on my 18 mile commute and there is a bridge on the motorway which can have snow flurries on one side and be clear on the other.

Re: not a proper adventure bike

Where are the modern GS owners?-- standing up for their adventure points of view? That is not meant as a passive/aggressive response but purely in a way that accepts anybody on an...

Re: not a proper adventure bike

Does your bike have to qualify as an Adventure bike before you can have an adventure on it?
An 'adventure' is defined by the person experiencing it and not by an onlooker or the ad man trying to sell you something. The bike is just the chosen tool for the job.

Re: Hard shoulder penality

Not on a hard shoulder but still solid white line related. My mate was on his way over to meet up for a ride. Just round the corner from his house is a railway level crossing and the barriers were down as he approached with four or five cars already in the queue. He decided to go to the front of th...

The paint is there already, we just have to choose whether to cross it.

Re: tyres with silica..

I change them when they are worn out but always keep the same tyres for all year round ........ do we really have the winters that need special tyres?
