Re: Brake Disc has blue rings of Saturn. Normal or not.

Yes rear disc gets warm but never blued in 60k miles of use. 1) First of all make sure the pedal spring returns the pedal fully upwards (I've found stones trapped between brake pedal and frame). 2) I would remove rear pads, then make sure the caliper can be moved (with your hands) in and out on the ...

Re: Brake Disc has blue rings of Saturn. Normal or not.

Cover the clutch in case the wheel touches the floor and hold the front brake on for safety , you can cable tie the front brake lever so...

Re: Ferry bookings .... Refunds ??

I’m just about to try and cancel three and a half grands worth of train tickets for a railway journey to Northern Italy via France, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland. Eleven different trains x four passengers. That’s going to be fun, as I’ve paid all up front. Vouchers are of no use as was to be a l...

Re: Covid 19 Coronavirus

Thanks Dave. Should be our Sons wedding today but it's obviously been postponed so could be a real emotional day with the family all self isolating in different parts of the County  . Another day up the scaffold for me, topping up my sun and wind tan from the last 3 days (repointing 2 chimney s...

Re: Covid 19 Coronavirus

Getting up v early because I can't sleep anyway. Coughing like a bastard. Back of throat feels like 40 grit sandpaper coated with ground glass, wrapped around a cactus. One tip for anyone who gets it. Baileys is excellent for the sore/dry throat. The correct dose is 3 doubles, one after the other.....

Re: Covid 19 Coronavirus

It may be different in France but yours doesn't sound like classic covid19 Dave. Like you say I think most people will probably contract it but the majority will have mild symptoms without needing hospital treatment. Our Daughter, granddaughter and Son-in-law had a cold and fever about 3 weeks ago a...

Re: The Royal Enfield Himalayan ,great value.

Thanks for the write up Jon it covers the idiosyncrasies of the Himalayan which most of us owners experience but love. I followed your travels on Facebook and loved the warts and all blog of the twists, turns and dilemmas of the journey whilst dreaming of being out there myself. I presume/hope you a...

Re: SORN your bikes

One is due tax and insurance tomorrow, think I will insure it incase a scrote visits in the small hours but declare Sorn for road tax.
My Wife's is taxed until August so may suggest she Sorns that.
My Himalayan is taxed until July but will keep that on the road just incase the need arises.
