Re: pyrenees motorbike ban.....
I live in Brighton not too far from the seafront, quite often working from home I hear an exhaust that makes my teeth rattle. Previously I lived far too near the M25, a sports bike with a through pipe (or any Harley that has had a 'stage') is only a thing of beauty if you're riding it, to everyone e...

Re: Shopping trip
Very nice pics, now that I have moved I miss the Surrey woodlands, the sunken lanes and some lovely byways. There's something about a Beech wood that just neutralises my general grumpiness

Re: The Cost of Camping - 2022
There are still cheap places to stay, but as 'camping' became mainstream the last couple of years, prices have certainly gone through the roof for the easy options. I remember the New Forest 10 years ago, stayed in a pretty crap site tbh (lots of us on bikes so didn't care) £8 a night, Red Shoot was...

Re: Iceland an Scotland lightweight ADV tent
Pack size & weight aren't the most important factors on the bike when wild camping, or where the weather is usually 'challenging'.... free standing in case tent pegs aren't happening & flysheet first if it hasn't stopped raining for 24 hrs are the main considerations. That tent choice could ...

Re: What's your advice regarding tank bags on long trips
I wouldn't travel anywhere without & consider one essential. Do some research, although doubtful you will have trouble with steering lock issues on a GS, they can also get in the way if you do a lot of standing, I would spend the money & get a waterproof one, I have an enduristan & it ha...

Re: RAC beware
Unfortunately they won't help - I'm obviously not condoning this..... but remove the chain, put it in your bag & say it snapped & flew off somewhere into the bushes covers the need for recovery

Re: Advice sought please, broken collarbone.
I broke mine about 7 years ago, but a clean, straight break so no need for surgery & I wish you a speedy recovery. For me it was the worst pain of my life for several weeks (I wasn't given any meds, had to sleep in a chair the first week until it started to fuse together ) but I now only remembe...

Re: Top Gear - good tribute to Eddie Kidd
I braved Jimi Saville (who knew at the time) to get Eddie Kidds autograph at a Jim L fix it. Thankfully all I got waved in my face from that pervert c*nt was a face full of cigar smoke. I had that autograph for years but sadly lost now. EK was a god in the early 80's

Re: Quad Lock
Had one for the bicycle for some time now (2 years?) I use that as daily transport. They work even on fairly bouncy surfaces, I 'd class a 100m descent of slimy flint / chalk South Downs as a good test, it held on better than I did
