Re: Heated waistcoat

Do you need it working off the bike? Direct to battery there are many excellent options, lithium battery powered not so many decent ones. Something came up on my facebook feed the other day that looked pretty good, however I've had an Avade heated base layer for (this winter 4 years) its not as warm...

Re: Any advice how to ride with a broken 5th metatarsal on your right foot?

I had to ride with a broken metatarsal on my left foot 2 years back. Be aware even without the gear change issue , it will put your recovery back by months (mine still hurt 8 months later). I had 2 weeks rest but had to go back to work & with a lot of walking between me & the office, riding was the ...

Re: First topic, need a bike now

30 years is a long time & the 790 is unlikely to ease you back in. However you seem like you know what you're up to & it's only powerful if you twist too much. Enjoy your return, just remember all that plastic shite they put on em now can't be banged with a hammer & is very expensive to replace :D

Re: Wales or Scotland late September... Road?

Tough call that one, one thing I've found with Scotland, when the weather turns meh, it's pretty much the entire country. Wales ride 50 miles & you can be back in the sunshine.

Both should be nice & peaceful though

Re: Padded shorts

I have had a pair for a while now, they were essential for any distance on the standard CRF saddle. They add at least an extra hours comfort riding to a day, you feel like you've had a poo & the Mrs calls them my Beyonce pants but hey ho. I tried cycling shorts but they just don't work on a motorcyc...

Re: Downs Road near Mickleham - Any experience?

There used to be quite a lot of byways around Box Hill, National Trust had the majority closed. The one you're referring to (I think) is the old Roman Road, it's been closed to motor vehicles for at least a decade, which was a shame as it went right past where I lived. If the other lane runs past Ex...

I hope that googling about wasn't getting a feel for the area around the AirBnb you've booked for 2 weeks

Jeez that's desolate

Re: Recommendations for really hot weather bike gear.

As has been said Jak, you need 2 dedicated jackets, One for when it's hot - mesh jacket or shirt option & the rest of the year. One thing to note, any time at decent speed & you can get chilly, I always carry a lightweight puffa & waterproof jacket (if they fold bigger than a beer can they're overki...

Re: Where does it say we must return home at night?

Well as its gone off topic lol.... The last to return to work will be the teachers and council staff who have found sitting at home on full pay rather nice.... Stop the furlough scheme... I'd love to sit at home on full pay, or even go on a camping jolly (I'm not even going to go there). However I ...

Re: Electric MTB

It's important to differentiate between a footway & footpath. They are defined differently
