Re: XRV750 THE Honda @T...

I didn't realise that the XRV site also catered tor transalps!--I have a 1997 600 and its a great tourer--even survived the Dragon rally this year--mild offroad capability helped in the bog!--I also make a carbon/kevlar bashplate for it to replace the plastic fantastic one. (see www.kodamacomposite...

Re: XRV750 THE Honda @T...

This has got me thinking about xrv.org as it was in the old days, complete with the many colourful characters on it! I recall that when the founder, Dave S, had had enough of running it, it was taken over by a commercial set-up who introduced various changes, such as adverts etc., which upset quite...

Re: XRV750 THE Honda @T...

I still go onto xrv regularly, it's now pretty much all tech type posts which are interesting from a tech (of course) perspective. There's virtually nil social interaction, at least compared to the old days when banter very much ruled! But, I'd say the 'rot' only set in purely from a social/banter ...

Re: XRV750 THE Honda @T...

I've mostly used my local Honda dealer, Kent M/C's, for spares, they are helpful and normally give a useful discount. Not that I've needed many spares with the AT being so robust! However, I've learnt that pattern service items are often rubbish by comparison and now generally only use OEM stuff. R...

Re: XRV750 THE Honda @T...

Thanks all. I will point Osvalter at this thread!

He knew of Lings already, and I mentioned Divd Silver who I have used for ages too :D

I was not certain how much in the way of actual spares RR have, I know they were good on accessories and oddities and modded parts such as the fuel pump...

What a great first "tour" for Gill. I am not surprised she wants to come back!!

Superb location to ride and of course, a nice run down through France ;)

Re: Exeter Trial

Well, it's not going to happen for me this year after all... Went out in the Dellow the day before yesterday and the big-end on No 3 cylinder cried enough. The owner fitted his spare engine, and we went out today for a final shakedown...and the rear axle failed. Ironically, the weather is set dry a...

I would reccomend Almeria province in Southern Spain, was there until a few days ago and the temperature is in the high teens with blue skies. You can ride there all the year round but its too hot for me July and August.
Touring, or do you base in one place and radiate outwards?
