Re: This is really bad news for owners of older bikes riding into London

There was a programme, based on fact, about a kid who tried to work as a motorcycle courier. He did a couple of buslane violations (easy in London), got the tickets and entered into a spiral of debt. Ended up topping himself. The programme can be viewed here and is based on the true story of Jerome...

Re: Peak District Adventures on the F800GS

Had my own little "Adventure" in the Peaks on Saturday... well I've got to run the 1090 in somehow! http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t9/MadCowPhotos/Bikes/KTM%201090/39453723_10156081221787982_2646731771768471552_n_zpsdmlsmci1.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t9/MadCowPhotos/Bikes/...

Re: Peak District National Park Authority - refuse a run to support Yorkshire Air Ambulance!

Whilst i am not in the least bit surprised by the PDNPAs stance, it should be noted that they have shown consideration to motorcycle events in the past, For instance the TRO on Washgate does allow its use by motorbikes twice a year for the Bemrose Trial and the Reliance Cup Trial... such generous fo...

Re: KTM 1090 Adventure R Thread

I've had my 1090 R just over a week now, already hit the 600 miles for the service and loving every minute. My initial thoughts on the 1090 are recorded on my blog: http://www.nomadracing.co.uk/2018/07/what-another-product-review.html Mine has the sump guard, heated grips. power socket and LED indic...

Re: Building a rally bike or trying anyway

A Cagiva Elephant that just needs a front wheel!

That'll be Lee's then

Not really the ideal bike for rallying, i'd stick with the MZ if I were you ;)

There's a reason most of us ride orange (having started rallying on an old skool CCM)

Re: Building a rally bike or trying anyway

Just a note of caution on the All Balls bearing kits, they use cheap bearings. I've got their oversize bearing kit in the rear wheel of my 450 EXC Rally Bike (and in the spare rear wheel), they don't last long at all. The answer was to measure the bearings and seals and order decent replacements fro...

Re: Washgate, Derbyshire.

The lack of signage doesn't mean there is no restriction, however.... If a TRO is not signed then it would be a reasonable excuse for a member of the public to use that route being unaware that any restriction was in place and thereby use this as a legitimate defence to avoid a potential prosecution...

Re: Weird wear on rear tube.

Putting mousse lube inside the tyre can help prevent this sort of wear, IIRC on the tubes of Michelin lube it does actually say this is a potential use for it. https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/?iid=272273816527&&&adgroupid=43333907642&rlsatarget=pla-491479330032&abcId=1088846&adtype=...

Re: Could happen anywhere, but my neck of the woods.

Some years ago I was sitting at traffic lights behind an old Ford Mustang who was signalling to turn left onto the A10 dual carriageway near Cheshunt in Hertfordshire . As the lights changed, the Mustang driver floored it, crossed the junction and sped off up the wrong carriageway!!! The next juncti...
