Re: Honda NC750X DCT

One year later and I'm now the proud owner of a Honda Crosstourer 1200X DCT. A truly awesome bike and in a different league to the NC750X but with that same DCT gearbox which I still find amazing and a true delight.

Re: Honda NC750X DCT

A quick report on how the bike performed on the 2,500 mile trip down to the south of France. The downside: On the way to Grenoble, 2 days of sitting on the motorways with gusting wind mostly straight into me, I learnt that a small screen can’t do a big job. Certainly not a comfortable experience. On...

Re: Honda NC750X DCT

http://www.mhracing.com/ Mark Hammond is an expert. He has previously done front and rear on my Blackbird. Talk to him or find a similar professional in your area. The Ohlins fork spring is listed under the NC700 but Mark does a lot more than merely replacing the spring. He also adjusted the pre-loa...

Re: Honda NC750X DCT

Hi Guys, Just had my service done at 7,000 miles as I'm off soon to do Route Napoleon and returning via Route des Grandes Alpes. New tires fitted BT023 (my favourite) still available. I recently made a couple of changes to my bike. Had the front suspension rebuilt using an Ohlins fork spring and re-...

French Alps and Route Napoleon mid October 2014

French Alps and Route Napoleon mid October. I’m leaving on Saturday 18th October via the Channel Tunnel on a 9 day solo trip doing Route Grande Alpes and returning along Route Napoleon. I will be staying in small hotels and B&Bs en route. Are their any riders planning a similar ride during this ...

Re: Honda NC750X DCT

It’s really great to hear these positive comments from the above posts. Slidey, that link you posted is well worth reading even though I’m a tarmac adventurer. I ignored the weather men and had a 9.5 hour tour of Welsh mountains today and quite surprisingly, I’m not that tired!

Re: Honda NC750X DCT

I have now done just short of 4,000 miles on my NC750X DCT and I thought I should give an update. Still very happy with all aspects of the the bike and especially the Duel Clutch Transmission which I find as close to perfect as is possible. I honestly don’t think I will ever want to go back to shift...

Re: Honda NC750X DCT

I get an average of 70 mpg riding in S mode, riding quite hard on A and B roads here in Wales. The bike has plenty of power, speed and torque for these roads but I would not suggest a motorway speed of over 85 mph on a long journey. This is purely from a comfort point of view, however it also helps ...
