Re: Tent Vango Beta 350XL. Any Reports?
Actually nine is the Omega which I think is lighter. Some quality issues too but a good tent nonetheless. Simon I have the Omega 350 too, bought it a few years ago now so it doesn't have the extra elastic/stabilizing straps that were fitted to the later ones, still a very good tent though. Next time...

Re: Looking for a leak proof drinks bottle.
There are health and environmental reasons why using plastic bottles are a bad idea... Exactly, and that's why I don't use one for long term storage/extended use. I think that the Nato bottle that the army use isn't a bad idea, thick hard plastic that's BPA free I think, black to prevent light gett...

Looking for a leak proof drinks bottle.
https://www.firebox.com/product/3442/Glugg-Water-Bottle I've been using one of these because it's metal, and it's got a fold out spout so quick and easy to take a swig when I stop, only trouble is, if it's not kept upright in my pannier it tends to leak. Apart from going to a flask/solid one piece s...
Re: RD 350 LC
Keep that beauty, it's iconic. I'd take time and restore it to original, lovingly look after it and care for it. I totally agree, that's what I would do too. The RD350LC were a big thing back in my youth, most of my mates had one, I bought my first one when I were 17/18, sold it a year or so later ...

Re: Vango New Tents
I've used an Omega 350 for motorcycle camping for a few years now, very happy with it in general, for the packed size/weight it offers a lot, myself & a mate have spent a fair bit of time sitting in the porch area, cooking etc when the weather's turned bad, we certainly wouldn't have fitted in h...

Re: Any courier/Van drivers out there???????
It's not all it's cracked up to be, the bosses greed for money can make the job unbearable, they just keep on giving you more drops/extending you're round, they don't really care about your safety, driving hours, overloading, traffic & parking problems,.....they only care about hitting targets/h...

Re: Jetboil Stoves, should I shouldn't I ?
I'd say that it all depends on how much and what type of 'cooking' you want to do. I have used a fair few stoves over the years, like most have said, Jet Boil is great for brews, I boil eggs in mine, handy for hot water for a boil in the bag meal too. If I'm planing on doing more cooking and going t...

Re: i want a big tent
I use an Omega 350, plenty of room, I also use a low seat which I can sit comfortably in the porch to cook if the weather is a bit IMG_0634.JPG inclement! I have this tent too, I use a chair with 'normal' length legs, I can still fit in the porch area Ok and I'm 6FT tall. This tent is pretty much p...
Re: DVLA
Aparently the only proof they accept is the pass form you get when passing your test. Considering you need to send this off to get the category put on your licence is a farce. I photocopied mine before sending them off, I was just worried about them getting lost in the post all those years ago, DVL...
