Re: DRZ front luggage rack, anyone got one or pics of one?

We've just made a couple, they're at the powder coaters now. Include a mesh light guard, storage for a small bag on the front, and mounting tabs for LED lights. I'll try & remember to post some photos within the next week or so when we get them back and mounted to bikes. Let me know if you fancy...

Re: Sat nav that i can download gpx routes to?

Another vote for the Garmin Montana. In actual fact I think all GPS units are pretty weak when it comes mounting them on a bike and off roading. But the Montana is probably one of the better ones. On my big trip I spent months without GPS, as my Garmin 60CSX gave up three times and needed to be ship...

Re: DR 350 fettling

You're welcome Redmurty! Always nice when it works out like that.

Though your use of 'hand shake' and 'helmet' in the same sentence did cause a chuckle

I look forward to seeing the progress. The DR350 is a lovely bike

Re: rear tyre ktm 690 r

Try a Mefo Super Explorer, it'll outlast most tyres, and is good for a balance of road and off road. No good in deep mud but what dual sport tyre is? I used a Super Explorer in the Pyrenees for one of Austin's events, and it did incredibly well. In fact we won :-) I'm biased but read the review that...

Re: Make a frame fixed nav tower mount for Yamaha WR450F - Zen Overland Tuareg 2014

So it worked! With so little time remaining before the event I didn't do nearly such a professional job as I'd hoped to, but it worked really well and did everything it needed to. People said it'd rattle loose, and that it was impossible to get the bolts that hold the nav-tower block onto the headst...

Re: problem with fitting touratech bottle holder to gsa pannier

It's entirely possible that Touratech have strengthened the design since this experience, but I was riding with a buddy in Mongolia and the repeated jolts snapped that lower bottle support 'shelf'. It seems a bit of a weakness in the design that it's just a thin folded bit of ali with no support. If...

Re: Anyone have experience with Forcefield knee protectors?

I've used the forcefield knee protectors for overlanding, enduro's and also just used them for the Tuared desert rally.
I've found them to be superb.
