Re: How much better can you be?

Superb hi-jacking of this thread by the way. It's only hi-jacking a thread if the OP gets annoyed and finds the information posted not interesting. But that is not the case, I liked the pictures! And, there were some good points mixed in for content. There were some great comments about how p...

Re: How much better can you be?

Re: How to improve your riding...Most important riding skill?

just a passing comment--and its probably been covered before, but the best training I got was when I was 12 or so and riding old Brit bikes in a grass field--you soon get used to controlling a slide and holding it when things are not so quick--everyone should ride offroad before they get near tarma...

Re: How to improve your riding...Most important riding skill?

How can/does this apply to motorcycle riding? Clay Shooting is a largely subconscious sport, where you react to a target appearing in your vision with a rehearsed method to break the target. The key word is rehearsed, everything has been practiced / trained, so generally the outcome will be the sam...

Re: How to improve your riding...Most important riding skill?

observation= road position, scanning close far right and left, peripheral vision if you can do it. Anticipation hazard awareness, static and mobile. When I think about all the things my worn out little brain is trying to compute going round a bend on a wet leaf covered road on knobbly tyres, I thin...

Re: How to improve your riding...Most important riding skill?

Road riding - observation and anticipation Trail riding - no substitute for experience Going fast (track) - no idea, but again probably experience Great, so a few people have said Observation and anticipation. Let's look at those two things first, are they one in the same? Does one affect the other...

Re: How to coach motorcycle riding :)

Turning in too early results in running wide, riders may turn in too early when approaching an unknown corner too quickly, feeling the need to turn in early and get on with the corner. Absolutely. It's a classic example of a survival reaction kicking in. Your brain interprets that you are entering ...

Re: How to coach motorcycle riding :)

General Low speed control Yes, that, but also I'm still not convinced that I don't turn in too early. What is the usual outcome of turning in too early? What do you think triggers a rider to turn in early? Anyone? Anyone? :D  :ugeek: Don’t you know? I do know yes. But it wouldn't be a very goo...
