Re: Bulbs in France

Spare bulbs….the way I see it my bike hasn’t got any bulbs** being all LED, Ergo there’s no spares to be carried.

** that’s assuming the French does say bulbs or whatever rather than something generic like “means of illumination”.

Re: Forst of Bowland campsites?

Hi Steve, its been ages....but living on the edge of Bowland I have never camped there. There isn't many considering how nice the area is but I suppose thats because its a quiet area, or is it the there way round. There does seem to be a lot of holiday park the places though for some reason. Anyway ...

Re: V85tt

I have got one, had it for just over a year and 8,000miles. It's great. Until a couple of weeks ago I also a BMWR1200GSA. I did about 500 miles on that bike while I had the V85TT so I obviously didn't miss the power and all the other good stuff about the GSA. Most of the 8000 miles has been two up t...

Re: Moto Guzzi V7 iii (Any experience)

I had a V7 for two days while my V85TT was in for a service. I did about 200miles. It’s small and low. It felt like my knees were up by my ears when I first sat on it. Lots of weight on my bum, but the seat is very soft and I never got really uncomfortable. It’s not hugely powerful but the torque cu...

Considering a Hexhead single cam gsa whos still riding one [emoji3]

I have a 2011 GSA for sale if you are interested (that’s the latest spec GSA before they went LC). High mileage (87,000) and a bit scruffy as a result although it’s only scruffy when up close and personal and it’s well sorted and nothing wrong with it. I just gave it a FULL service. Usual GSA equipm...

Re: breaking that b!!!!!d bead how do you? solo on the trail.

I tried the motion pro jobbies on GS12 yesterday (replacing the battery in the TPS). I left the wheel in sun for an hour until the tyre felt good and warm. The levers got a good grip on the rim and the tyre but I couldn’t get enough pressure on the bead to get it to break away. Some lube in there wo...

Re: Garmin Rugged powered mount with 12v cigar plug

Ignore most of the above. It’s wrong. The rugged mount DOES NOT consume any power. It simply passes through 12v into your unit. Your unit is designed to accept this voltage through the pins that connect to the Rugged Mount. I have taken my rugged mount apart several times. The gold connectors you se...

Re: Travel this year

Our plans for a 6-8 week trip to Eastern Europe, Georgia and Turkey on hold for two reasons: 1. Riding into a "hot zone" and catching the flu while away. Ill with flu of any sort for 2-3 weeks on a 6 to 8 week trip is not going to be fun, possibly longer if we get it consecutively rather t...

Re: Garmin Rugged powered mount with 12v cigar plug

I am not clear what your problem is here. Have you got something that is stepping down the voltage out the cigarette socket from 12volts to 5volts. I am pretty sure the USB socket should only be powered with 5 volts (although I could be wrong on that). If, when you plug a USB cable directly into you...

Re: Garmin Rugged powered mount with 12v cigar plug

I have a Garmin Rugged mount that's been fitted to three different bikes each in a different way. I have also dismantled it a couple of times after connection problems. Power to the mount goes straight through the connectors with 12v supplied into the Montana unit. This comes through pins 4 & 5 ...
