Did a 6 000 mile trip on mine on motorways, rural roads, mountain passes, steppe and very very bad Russian roads. The bike coped admirably well. The only gripes being things the factory could have sorted: the low fuel warning light ( no fuel gauge) would come on with anything between 5 and 40 miles ...

Far to expensive price wise, and they are VERY bulky size wise....!! Too cumbersome....!!! Too hefty...!!! Something between 650cc and 950cc engine size wise is all you'll probably require nowadays. Instead I'd buy either one of these machines instead of the HUGE bulky BMW, V-Strom 650 - XT660Z - 9...

What's the situation with electric bikes on bridleways- I presume they are 'mechanically propelled' and as such are (to the letter of the law) illegal to use?
