Re: Starting a small adventure (West Midlands)
Well, Christmas out of the way, and first service done and dusted - though I still haven't put 1000 miles on the thing yet! I took the side panniers off, which makes a world of difference, but kept the double top box - it's just too useful. The pick up is great by comparison, it feels much more like...

Re: Dream Riding Destination
Oh, wow.
Grand Canyon, Niagra falls, doing the Vietnam top gear ride they did, would all be special.
But not as special as finding the waterfall that used to be a stream that my dad used to fish in County Armagh.
Has it got dusty in here all of a sudden??

Re: Sinnis Terrain (new bike)
I've got a wax style spray I've been using, mostly on the top of the front forks, as that's where the rust came on the old bike, and the metals I can get to. Adjusted the chain with the help of my brother, who said after we probably didn't need to, but at least I now know how its done. going to pick...

Re: Sinnis Terrain (new bike)
Thanks - I thought it was far too good. But roughly 100 mpg? yeah, I'll take that on a tight engine.
Due to a recent op, I haven't been out for a while, so still a ways off first service, but hoping to be out and about soon

Re: Sinnis Terrain (new bike)
so, having fuelled up a little, I'm kind of astounded at what the fuel consumption is: from a full tank on pick up, I refuelled at 101 miles, and it took 4.79 litres. Have again fuelled up today at a total of 268 miles, and the intake was 6.75 litres. So 268 miles on 11.5 litres on a tight engine? I...

Re: Sinnis Terrain (new bike)
noticed the slack on park. I'm never very good on bike maintenance and always get worried on the chain.
May just call the garage and ask if they can spare 30 seconds to confirm for me.

Re: Sinnis Terrain (new bike)
Almost a month now..... trying to get miles on to get the service in before I'm off the bike for a week or so, but not sure I will get there. So far, nothing to really report - still loving the new feel of the bike, and can't wait to be given the go ahead on letting the revs get past 6.5k :-) Going ...

Re: Sinnis Terrain (new bike)
So its been a week. I've almost got used to the weight of the bike. The old one got pushed back into the garage with almost one hand by comparison. Took the terrain out for a ride through the back roads to Bewdley in Worcestershire (about 40 miles round trip) and while I wasn't gunning the engine (a...

Re: Sinnis Terrain (new bike)
Getting the old (wrecked) bike back tomorrow - hoping to swap out the top box as a double shouldn't be that much more weight, and I can then store the lid on the bike
