Re: Steph Jeavons returns to the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu. 21st March 2020

Not surprisingly, in light of what's going on and the UK Government's announcement yesterday, this event has been postponed. A new date will be arranged when things get back to normal.

Just got another ticket for my mate to go to this event on the 21st March . Apparently there are still seats available if anyone else is interested in going.

Only a couple of months until this event at Beaulieu. They had an excellent talk about the history of Goodwood circuit last week and apparently tickets for the Steph Jeavons evening are selling well, best book a seat if you want to go.

Postponed: Steph Jeavons returns to the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu. 21st March 2020

Steph Jeavons is making a return visit to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu on Saturday 21st March 2020 to give an evening talk about her recent all-female trip to Everest base camp on Royal Enfield Himalayans. The talk she gave last year about her RTW adventure was just about sold out. I booked...

Re: Pat and Ness Garrod talk at Beaulieu, Friday 6th December

Went to this on Friday and what an entertaining and inspiring evening it was. First part was a talk by Pat Garrod about their RTW and African Journeys with a good number of hairy incidents balanced by fantastic human interest stories about the people they met on their travels. Second half of the eve...

Re: Waterproof oversuit/jacket/trousers - recommendations?

Another vote for the Oxford Rain Seal. I've got the two piece which tends to live in my panniers for when I get caught out. To be honest, I've never been over impressed with the water proofness of my Dainese jacket but have found with the Rain Seal stuff over the top I stay really dry even in the he...

Re: Something to do over Xmas

It's not Asia I know but have a look at my thread about our Patagonian trip earlier this year https://adventurebikerider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=48609 We did a three week trip but as I mention in the thread, I'm certain that you could do a worthwhile trip in two weeks covering bits of the Car...

Re: Hard shoulder penality

Not on a hard shoulder but still solid white line related. My mate was on his way over to meet up for a ride. Just round the corner from his house is a railway level crossing and the barriers were down as he approached with four or five cars already in the queue. He decided to go to the front of th...
