Re: The mythical low maintenance trail bike.
Neither the Serow or the TTR required the seat ,the battery or anything else to be removed in order to clean them, which is apparently necessary on the CCM. It helped a lot that the Serow and TTR were a lot older and tattier than the CCM and I did not have a warranty to worry about. Spares were a l...

Re: CCM GP 450......was it any good?
For an alternative perspective.....just back from 2500 miles. Saddle was fine for 400 mile days (bit uncomfortable towards the end...what isn't) but next day back on the bike with no grumbles. I feckin love it; engine & gearbox spot on, power delivery with the PC & quill is hooliganesque, e...

Re: MT07 Tracer...has anyone got one?
Hi Scott, There's a good write-up on it in the current issue of BIKE. The telematic data is interesting....slow/medium acceleration and braking is superior to most big sportsbikes, it seems. If I was in the market for a new roadbike, it would be on my list. Agreed ^ Compared to the 900, the 700 is ...

Re: The mythical low maintenance trail bike.
Definitely not the CCM GP450 just the cleaning that the factory seems to consider necessary to maintain the warranty takes hours. I think the trick is to buy something older like a Serow or a TTR250. Cheers Jak Why would a Serow or a TTR250 need any less cleaning after a muddy trail ride? I agree w...

Re: CCM GP 450......was it any good?
Given that they have stopped making them it is interesting that I have yet to see a wanted add for one on here or any other forum. I still come across such adds for Serows, DR 350s, TTR 250 and the like. May be I should hang on to mine until they become sort after collectors items. Cheers Jak Jak, ...

Re: Death of the Dual Sport?
Are they all gone or is it as much to do with us not buying enough? We have had until recently the Katoom 690 Enduro and we now have the Husky 701, the AJP offerings, and if you want to consider smaller engines the 450s, the GP450, the RE Himalaya and the Honda CRF450 (yes, the GP450 has been culled...

Re: One year on was it worth it?
With so many new younger voters having registered to vote it seems very likely that if the referendum were to be run again the result would be reversed Cheers Jak Jak, I hear this a lot. There was a mainstream party that was clearly campaigning for 'Remain' and their manifesto included offering a s...

Re: One year on was it worth it?
why would I as a PLC make a house where I can make 10k profit when I can build a house where I can make a 100k profit. Greed is killing society. I only need to earn €10,000/yr to have A comfortable life. That comfortable life includes a farm with 3 houses, a car, a van and 4 motorbikes. Why would I...

Re: One year on was it worth it?
Very good points there, Dave, although it's easy to blame much on the 'greed' which drives the capitalist world. Without that greed, we'd have something akin to a Kibutz! I've been saying for ages tat the biggest challenge facing our United Kingdom isn't Brexit, pensions, Schools, tax etc. It's simp...
