Re: Gas Gas Adventure 400

It's a shame about the SWM importer but hopefully the new importer can do a better job of getting them out there and promoting them. Brexit or no Brexit, from what I could see they just weren't making a mark on the sector. Good bikes. I hope they find some momentum. I think the struggle for all thes...

Re: The Royal Enfield Himalayan ,great value.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the bike Jak. Just back from a trip across the US on mine putting her up to 15600 miles. Handled the task with no problems. And I would agree, it stacks up quite nicely against the CCM as a travel bike and would be my pick of the two for a laid back pace. Very competent ...

Re: The Royal Enfield Himalayan ,great value.

Yeah I think like a lot of brands they skimp a bit on the greasing, and I think the torquing was a bit out on mine as well. It was done at 4200 miles and has been fine since. I've not really done many fuel calculations but on a motorway run back down from John o'Groats I worked it out to be about 72...

Re: Bike insurance for the USA no longer available

Hi Bilco

In the same situation as you; a shipping container of bikes due to sail in a few weeks and no insurance at the other end. A lot of people are sweating over this. I'm led to believe a solution is imminent and will post one up if I hear it confirmed.

Re: The Royal Enfield Himalayan ,great value.

They're a good bunch over at Cooperb. Their mechanic is top notch and does a proper nut and bolt inspection before delivery and at service time. Good prices as well compared to what was quoted back up the page. I had the aftermarket can on mine for a short while. Wasn't convinced by any performance ...

Re: adv bike at 4-5k

gonna be a fair few backroads an motorways rides i never speed so don't need over 70 :) If that's what you're after then I'd most certainly recommend the Himalayan. I've been running one for almost 7000 miles now and been up and down the country on the back roads a few times now. It's very manageab...

Re: The Royal Enfield Himalayan ,great value.

Hi, I am hoping to have another test ride on a Himalayan this week and I was interested in the views of those who currently own them. What mpg are you getting? How is the finish standing up? What are they like off road, compared to say a CRF or TTR 250? Are then any annoying features that make you ...

Glad you found the source of the noise Mike. Mine had the same for a while but seems to have self cured. That's the kind of problem I like!

Re: The Royal Enfield Himalayan ,great value.

I have mine loaded up for leading a run from Land's End to John o'Groats this weekend; camping and taking all the back roads. It runs really well with luggage and when it's loaded it seems to suit the pace of the bike much better. Mine cruises at 65/70mph, so no rocket ship, but suits a more gentle ...
