Re: Motorcycling in Russia

I've ridden to NordKapp twice, the last time, this year through the Baltic countries and Finland. I toured the lake area in Southern Finland, then headed north to Ruka (winter sports resort) followed by west to Rovaniemi. I took a day off and visited the Artic Museum, which is a must, before heading...

The Dordogne

Booked on an overnight ferry to Le Havre in a week, destination Emyet, South of Beragaic. Staying with a friend for a couple of days then heading back with two clear days of riding, plus departure day and the day we arrive for the 17.30 ferry back in Le Havre. For the ride down, I wanted to knock of...

Re: Fekin Ferries

Well that explains seeing an Irish Ferry with the bow doors removed at the shipbuilders in Flensburgh, Germany last Sunday week.

If any one is interested, I can recommend a good hotel in the centre of town, with parking and covered if you request in advance?

Re: Nordkapp, should I?

I did it last year in June, ferry from Harwich to The Hook, then northern Germany to Copenhagen, Sweden then Oslo. I took the coast road up to Trondheim, then The Lofoten Islands (absolute must), followed by Tromso, Hammerfest then Nordkapp. I took five weeks off, and included 5 free days. Can't com...

Touratech Comfort Seats

Me again. Second item that I would appreciate any comments and/or experiences relate to the Touratech Dr-ride comfort seat. I have two to test requiring a trip to their shop in Wales. Last year in Norway, I met an Italian couple who both had Touratech seats and raved about their performance. They ha...

Mudsling ADVance hand Guards

Has anyone purchased and fitted the Mudsling ADVance Guard to fit an R1200Adventure? These are adjustable hand guards which immediately went on back order when recently advertised by Nippy Normans, so I assume were very popular. Mine arrived today and the first thing I noticed was the weight, if my ...

Re: Bike theft

Considering this. http://www.henrykrank.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_44_47&products_id=2964 Security company told me that this is popular with scooter owners in rural areas. The chap said "when it goes off, if they don't have a heart attack, they'll s**t themselves"...

Re: Bike theft

The figure of 70 motorcycles a day should be enough for the authorities to instigate a crackdown, they know who these people are! However, from my experience, the figure doesn't represent the true severity. In April of this year, my wife and I were woken by the police at 3.30am, informing us they ha...
