Re: ABR Chilterns Chill Out Weekend - Photos & Videos

Now this is digging up an old thread...

I bumped into (the now Reverend) Matt Cashmore at the Ace Cafe Overland and Adventure Bike Day today and we couldn't believe this was 11 years ago.

We were all so young, and slim.

Re: Long Way Up

Trumpet are planning an enormous launch of their new 1200 Scrambler.... We could see them doing it on that.. Triumph Scrambler 1200 launch - October Long Way Up (rumoured) launch - October Coincidence? Maybe, but look at the way the bike market is going, look at the age of the average adventure bik...

Re: Derbi Terra and Derbi Terra Adventure info.

That looks like a copy, wonder where it's made. For what it's worth you don't see many Terras' or Advent¡uses here either - I live less than a100 miles form the factory, which has now closed down ... Meanwhile, first thing is to check your clutch adjustment and chain tension. Regs Simon Made in Chi...

Re: Question for the ex-pats

Is he old enough to have a full Category B car licence? If he does then Spain allows him to ride a 125cc motorbike on it. The French however require you to have their version of the CBT these days.

Re: Derbi Terra and Derbi Terra Adventure info.

Oh, mine still works (mostly), still looks good despite living outside. Real world figures between 80 to 90mpg and cruises all day at 65mph loaded or unloaded although try and tuck your luggage behind you as much as possible as wide pianists and headwinds knock that down to mid to high fifties. The ...

Re: A small trip on small bikes

Blimey, you doing me out of a job :) For those who don't have Spanish the boss says 'within national territory' meaning Spain! That looks like a UK license holder can only do this within British territory too? Yeah, that "within national territory" is the interesting bit, assuming (and ass...

Re: A small trip on small bikes

Hi Simon You're right, I've not been on as much, what with being involved in organisation for the Overland Event, and getting ready to move house. I should have known Google would provide. This rental company http://www.rentabike.org/en/conditions.htm says: · In Spain you can drive a 125cc Moped/Mot...

Re: Herald motorbikes

I stumbled across the Frances Barnett the other day, a Herald 125cc with a 21" front wheel and an 18" rear and a very nice looking thing it is, but at £3500!! maybe not.

Re: A small trip on small bikes

Simon, Am I right in thinking that you can ride a 125cc in Spain on a Category B car licence with three years experience? I'm sure I read something about Spain's scooter hire companies being up in arms when the 3rd European Licence Directive came in and threatened to restrict everyone without bike l...
