For the sake of a few quid and seeing as ferry is booked I’ll risk not needing them rather than take a chance. Didn’t realise it was a debate thought I was just someone asking a question,

There are three types,the french one covers everywhere else apart Lichtenstein which for some reason has its own. No idea why but it’s also £5.50 so didn’t bother with that one

Off to Spain via France on 12 April so got french IDC £5.50 valid for 3yrs,got Spanish IDC £5.50 valid for 1yr. Something doesn’t add up to me. Also got in touch with insurance about green card,couldn’t have been more helpful,all sorted so bring on the 12th

Paid it now and got receipt so think it may be in-forceable. Also the letter had to signed for so seems legit. Anyway done now, Hungary is still a great place to explore by bike just don’t use motorway!!

Think I’ll just pay it as well and pay more attention next time I’m out that way. Thanks

Just received the same letter for the same thing,no vignette for motorway in Hungary. Like you didn’t realise I had to get one plus didn’t see anywhere to get one. Did sending email make any difference or should I just pay it? £££
