Thanks for your suggestions, I have got a few to be working with now and doing a bit of research on.
For the time being I will be using the XT mostly for road use with a little bit of off-road, and I want a tyre that will last.

I am looking at buying some new tyres for my XT350, but was wondering what everyone recommends.

Re: Nearly wiped out by 2 knob heads
Well I'm glad someone else has said it as I thought I was becoming a bit tame and a bit of a kill joy in my old age. My commute to work is like a race track on warmer days and cars and bikes are as bad as each other. Regardless on your intentions for being out, there is a highway code to try and fol...

Re: jobs you wish you'd never started
Is there a base coat you could use to create a barrier to stop the walls being so porous and absorbing the paint? I began rewiring my old VW camper van over a year a go now as I couldn't afford to pay an auto electrician to do it and most wouldn't touch it. I had no knowledge of electrics or vehicl...

Re: Motorbike skis...hear me out
Thanks, I may invest in some snow socks for now then to tackle the worst bits easier. In all fairness if a pedestrian hits the ski, there more than likely going to hit the whole bike, but I see where you are coming from. ;) I might try and do a bit of research into this to see what I can get away wi...

Re: Is Motorcycling dying?
I've noticed more people commuting on bikes near me since the recession has taken hold, but they are riding smaller engine bikes from 50cc up to 250ish and then there are those that have got the old bike in the garage as the toy weekend play thing, that have been forced to sell the car or can no lon...

Re: Motorbike skis...hear me out
Yeah I know spring should be here soon and is already overdue, but I was thinking this could be something to work on over summer ready for next winter. Didn't think about the insurance and that could be a problem. I can imagine a few flummoxed advisors on the other end of the line when I call and as...

Re: Maybe we should consider going retro in this recession
Ah this is my sort of thread! I'm already riding a 13 year old XJ600N everyday and have had that bike in bits more times than I dare admit, but it is easy to work on and fix. My other bike a 20 year old XT350 is great albeit the valves are an absolute b*****d to do. You need a special tool apparentl...

Motorbike skis...hear me out
Okay this may come across as a stupid question, but are motorbike skis legal in the UK or snow socks? The reason I ask is I came off my bike this morning in the snow, nothing serious and no damage fortunately, but was thinking I could avoid this with some skis that could be easily fitted and removed...
