Genuinely curious (well thats what the missus calls me). When I look at bikes like these and I include stuff like triumph tigers, not just BMWs, I see a touring bike. Apart from Tyres which are changeable on any bike, what parts of the design makes a BMW GSA an adventure bike as opposed to a Tourer ...

The first Honda I rode was a 76 or 77 (can't remember) CR 125 Elsinore, It was not boring. I think building so many Dreams/Superdreams, cb200s and the like gave it a bit of a rep in the 70s, but in reality Honda has not gone a year in it's history without building some seriously performing Race Bike...

Never seen any numbers, but I can't see how the unsprung parts in a shafty driven wheel could be as light as chain and sprocket, unsprung weight is a biggie for suspension quality, especially when dealing with long travel
