Re: Wanted - Serow somewhere near Builth Wells

I've got a Serow and it fits me great being low as I'm only 5'4". I'd have thought at 6'1 it would be a bit low for you. It's a great little bike but last trail bike I had was a two stroke and I take bad with the 4 stroke

Yamaha XT225 Serow for sale

I'm gutted to be having to do this as it took me a long time to actually source my bike, but sadly, I have to sell it. It's a 1990 Yamaha XT225 Serow. It was first registered in the UK in 1998. It's got about 17,000km on the clock and is MOT'd to April 2019. It's been in storage since the last MOT b...

Re: Fork spring caps - XT225

Thank you. I watched that video and he makes it look so easy lol. These caps are threaded though and mine aren't. I have to push them down a fair bit to then get the retaining clip in. Here are my caps - minus the air valves as I took them off to see if it would relieve some pressure for pushing the...

Re: Fork spring caps - XT225

It's a 1992 Japanese import. Only 15,000km on the clock. It needs a wee bit of TLC - frame and swinging arm and the tank is a bit tired looking but the plastics are cleaning up OK. Oh yeah, and the fork seals................ lol The cap isn't threaded and has an air valve on the top. Is it easier to...

Fork spring caps - XT225

So, I've replaced the fork seals and bushes on my Serow but am now stuck. How the %&£$ do you get the spring caps back into the top of the forks? No matter how hard I try to push the cap down, I can't get it far enough down to put the retaining clip in. If I push too hard, the upper fork starts ...

Re: Bikes suitable for the vertically challenged

Don't forget that seat width needs to be considered too. I have the exact same problem. I have sat on a lowered V-Strom 650 and Versys and they were both fine, as well as the Honda CB500X. I found that the BMW F650 had a very wide seat and I couldn't reach the ground on it. The Honda Transalp was th...
