Given that a CB500-X can be had for £5,000 brand new. the cost of upgrades (all of which are bolt-on) can be had for £2,220..... I'd say paying £1,780 for fitting is a bit rich!
Nice looking piece of kit through!!

Re: 650 GS Dakar
Two things I look for when buying 650GS's (have had a few now): 1) Waterpump. With the engine running and up to temperature, check under the left side of the engine casing where the two coolant pipes meet (this is your waterpump) - there should be a small 2mm hole visible. Check there is no water or...

This is the joy of Forums, everyone has an equally loud voice with a right and place to be heard.

Re: Panniers.......... or "Enduro" Trailer?
Well then.... this does seem to have struck a nerve  To clarify, I've never exceeded the pack capacity of my panniers and rarely ever carry more than an additional roll bag on the back. I just have a rather odd desire to tinker and build things (usually totally unnecessary). It was JB's (ra...

Panniers.......... or "Enduro" Trailer?
Hi All, When off on the bike, I tend to stay in the same place for a day or two and then move on. My trusty 650GS is, lets be honest, a mediocre trail bike at best. Even without luggage it can be a lump on the dirt. Add luggage to this and it gets even trickier. I've seen a couple of people with cus...
Re: Insurance
The trick here is NEVER to insure with Bennetts...
Genuinely great initial offers but their renewals are hilarious!!! :woohoo:
They once increased my premium for installing an Alarm on my bike, as the saving I achieved was less than their admin costs - go figure.

Looks unlikely I'll be able to make it but would I be OK to stop in for a brew during the day?

Re: Rain and visors
I bought a set of gloves once that had piece of a "Windscreen Wiper" built into the thumb/index finger web of the left glove. Very useful!
