Re: Plans for the weekend?

20 minute ride to the cafe.....full English....a nice bimble round the East Sussex lanes with like minded folk.....a suitably unhealthy lunch stop...a tad more bimbling and home.
Not exactly an adventure though. ;)

Re: W2 Touring Adventure Boots

My W2 4 dirt have been brilliant.
All day comfortable - I wore them for the 2 weeks in India when riding.
Don’t get any water through on such water crossings as I’ve done nor have they leaked in heavy rain.
Maybe I’ve just been lucky?

The Forma look almost identical to the W2 but maybe a tad trimmer.

Re: BANG !

A lit fag has a miniscule chance of igniting the sparse vapour, a static discharge when someone gets out of there car/truck whatever and grounds themselves against the bodywork is a far greater risk, but in reality it hardly ever happens In the US, I get so much static from the cheap and nasty rent...

Re: BANG !

The French always were a sophisticated lot. Remember that here we were all going to die if your mobile phone was switched on in a garage. Talking of H&S, the new Grand Designs is about a self build estate. H&S had been a big thing in the latter years of my architecting but this lot are terrifying. R...

Re: BANG !

I thought the first thing French truckers do is have a pee against a wheel.
Maybe he was saving it in case there was a fire.

Re: Bizarre situation with Bennetts!

Haven’t they just exempted motorsport vehicles? I also thought it was only under consideration, not law yet but I’m probably wrong. Wasn't aware of that. I gave up racing 10 years ago, so not in the loop anymore. I just don't see why anybody should be forced to insure something that will never see ...

Re: Bizarre situation with Bennetts!

If it was a farm, surely there should have been business third party liability. If we’re going that route, it’s about time EVERY non pedestrian road user has third party liability. That said, maybe everyone should have some sort of cover as even pedestrians can cause enough damage. A few years ago I...

Re: Bizarre situation with Bennetts!

it seems that bikes are now only insured for theft when you are actually riding them  :(    There's a crazy rule in France that forces you to insure ANY vehicle, even if it never goes on the road and even if you say that you don't want to insure it. We have a farm quad t...

Re: Bizarre situation with Bennetts!

The magic words should include. “...on a journey....”. Which means your Tesco trip ought to be covered but left at your next door neighbours house overnight wouldn’t be. I have changed to RH for the Street Twin and theirs is just an overnight rule. Bikesure were at any time, like your GS. Apparently...
