It was 51.89% that wanted to leave. So more than 1%, less than 2%. Rounding the figure up or down changes nothing.
I wouldn't want to be your accountant

Re: EU. In or out?

Where do you get 1% from Alan? Potentially only viable if you take all eligible voters, not those who actually voted. We’re back to Lies, Damn Lies and Statistics. Always use the best/worst possible case to prove an argument. Either take it as ‘those who voted’ or have compulsory voting so it’s from...

Thanks for that explanation. As long as you don’t ask questions, I’ll say I followed what you were saying. :D

Re: EU. In or out?

The first past the post referendum was always flawed but was presumably set by the Electoral Commission rather than the Conservatives. They also wrote the question as they said it had to be a simple in or out to avoid confusion. I don’t recall anyone objecting loud enough before the vote was set tha...

Re: EU. In or out?

So, on that theory, two years after any vote on anything, we have another vote, ad infinitum/nauseam.
Nothing would ever get done as, it is clear from Brexit, it takes time to decide/agree/organise things so we end up with a permanent impasse.

Re: Will electric vehicles become the 'dieselgate' of 2050?

Now that’s the way to improve towns and cities at a stroke...electric buses, delivery vehicles and taxis. To my mind that would create a huge benefit to air quality. Charging at work is fine if they have their own car park. How many charging points does the university have though? I used to need my ...

Re: EU. In or out?

No. I think I am right in saying that we transferred those laws to allow for a controlled changeover but can then tweak, dispose of or whatever we want later. Ok, run wasn’t the best phrase to use so maybe I should change ‘run by them’ to ‘being substatially interfered with by them’. Without botheri...

Re: EU. In or out?

As I understand it, the rules did not seem to allow forward planning so as reasoned a thought process as possible was all that was available. From my point of view, I took no notice of the pre-referendum propoganda from either side, accurate or not. My reason for leaving was simply a complete dislik...

Re: Will electric vehicles become the 'dieselgate' of 2050?

Air and ground source are fine in principle but expensive to install. If it gets really cold, they can’t cope either, nor can they cope if you have six kids that all want a shower in the morning...a client of mine didn’t understand that. Carla from the TRF rode her electric trail bike to Paris and w...
