Re: Petrol: supermarket vs shell etc

Strangely the main bike (Guzzi Stelvio) shows very little difference when commuting, pretty constant 40mpg whatever the petrol. The car however gives 5%-10% less range when filled in the local Asda / Morrisons compared to the local Shell garage. Decision on where to fill depends on Price difference ...

Re: Planning for next year

Make sure she's comfortable and secure. Boots comfortably on pegs without legs hitting luggage. No sharp edges on topbox/luggage to press into you when you're leaning against it for a couple of hours. Regular breaks on her schedule, not yours, so she's not just a passenger being dragged along like t...

Re: The thorny Issue of Insurance

When I returned to the UK from Europe a few years ago Carole Nash allowed me to use my non UK bike insurance no claims record. They may have subsequently screwed up registering it with the Motor Insurance Bureau, tried to cancel it a couple of years later for alleged non payment (they had the money ...

Re: h7 headlight bulbs?

There is an argument that, if the fillament failure is due to vibration induced fracture, the metal will be more ductile, and less likely to break, when hot and therefore will fail less when running. Anyone ever worked in the industry able to comment?

Re: Hey guys and gals!

By the way, any of you guys have an idea on what's the best hearing protection to use while riding? I sometimes hear ringing in my ears after a long ride and I did some googling and found out that I might have tinnitus. Tried generic ear plugs but I have weird ear canals and they just hurt when I p...

Re: Garage/Shed

https://www.tuin.co.uk/ I built a cabin from these guys a few years ago, excellent quality and fast delivery, choose a decent wall thickness then insulate it if you feel the need, we didn't bother. Only issue with this, log cabin, style is mounting anything to the walls, because the wood changes siz...

Re: 2019 somewhere warm

Was thinking last couple of weeks in July, maybe first week of August. Undecided whether to ride all the way down (boring) or catch ferry to north Spain (£) which is what I did when visiting S Spain a couple of years ago. More into a gentle potter around than blasting around the place.

Re: 2019 somewhere warm

We both have larger adventure bikes, ktm and 1150gs therefore won't be heavy offroading. Im a newby at organising trips....Anyon...
