I share your anger I would be fizzing if it were me, your security is the next step. Forget chains and ground anchors if they can get bolt croppers on a link you're knackered, look on YouTube at the Thatcham and Sold secure chains supposedly 5 mins attack proof failing in less than 15 seconds. +1 for Startrescue coming up to my 3rd anniversary with them, never needed them and they keep reducing my premium (£52 for 5 star cover this year). They cover Morocco as standard great to know as I'm going again this year on the bike.

I remove the seat and strap across the frame on my GS LC, I use a piece of carpet under the strap and I've had no problems on BF on 2 trips through the Bay of Biscay. I always show the erk that the seat base is in fact plastic as are the mounts.

Got the full set on my GS LC the fit is superb as is the quality and you won't have any problems with Adventure Bike Shop, if you do their service is excellent.
