Re: RIP Pint Master

Have nothing much more to add than already said above. However anyone connected to Cambs or Suffolk TRF will have probably been on a ride out with him. In fact my first Peaks trip (Including Chapelgate!) was hosted by Tony. I’ll be frank I didn’t always politically see eye to eye with Tony but none ...

Re: BMW F800GS...am I missing the obvious?

I had a 2012 bike. Bought from a fellow forum member. Toured France and Lux. Green laned in the Peaks and the east of England. Commuted to London on occasion. Did it all with ease. It’s a really good bike. Simple and reliable. Great on the trails. Slim and light. Bad points. The engine runs out of p...

Re: Anyone switch from an Africa Twin to a R1250GS?

I’ve gone the other way from a GSA1200 to a AT1100 Adventure Sport (manual). Let me say as preamble both are brilliant bikes. In fact are there really any bad bikes these days? Brilliant as the GS was, I fancied a chance and it was a handful at times on the trail. While the AT is not exactly light e...

Re: New Honda CRF300 L and CRF300 Rally

Hello I’m now in the market for a trail bike. Assuming I go down the Honda route, I wondering if I’d go for a CRF 300 or get a used 250. (Non rally) Has anyone has any real world ownership of both? Is the 300 worth the extra money? I’ll mostly be trail riding in muddy/sandy East Anglia with the odd ...

Yup. I overtook Rossi at the race track on my GS. I was 2up with luggage and knobbly tires. He’s lost it :D

Re: Triumph

I must admit I checked it wasn’t April when I read this.

It’s a surprising move into a small and crowded market place. That said maybe KTM need challenging.

Wonder if it’s full on Enduro tools or will the make something that would also make a nice trail bike.

I did the Imber perimeter yesterday on my mountain bike. Conditions were very sloppy for this time of year. So I would avoid taking a big trail bike on the plains until we’ve had a run of dry weather!
