P.S.
The A83 is being routinely closed with very little notice if rain is forecast.

Re: Scottish Ferries ... all OK ??
For Gourock /Dunoon check out Western Ferries not Calmac.
Western are running to normal timetable, turn up and roll on.
Calmac have a, fully comprehensive, current timetable.
Bear in mind accomodation is currently packed out and campsites are in many cases No Tents.

Re: Titanium Welding Rod
Snaff, Again thanks. Welding rods because I found them for sale significantly cheaper than pieces of bar/rod. It was only the welding rod price that made it possibly viable. I guess the seller has a source ! I googled annealing titanium and got the sophisticated vacuum/heating soaking/cooling top of...

Re: Titanium Welding Rod
Snaff,
OK thanks; clear about annealing to bend.
Do you suggest leaving "the pointy end" as un-annealed as possible to retain hardness ??
Or would it tend to shatter if hitting rocks ?
P.S.
I saw an idea this morning to use star washers as the guyline retainer -- rather than bend a crook.

Titanium Welding Rod
Moderator, please move if this is in the wrong place. Does anybody on here have hands on knowledge of grade 2 titanium welding rod ? I have never used Titanium wire tent pegs but the notion of tough shepherds crook style pegs appeals. I appreciate all of the downsides of small diameter pegs. Titaniu...

Re: Covid 19 Coronavirus
So begging your pardon m',lud and acknowledging your positive input --- I think where I have always been going with R is that, as interesting as it is, there are several other , relevant ,relatively easily collated, displayed every day, numbers. People can see those numbers, they are solid, not mode...

Re: Covid 19 Coronavirus
Going back to the R. I see Northern Ireland have pronounced theirs R as 0.79. There was a learned chappie interviewed on the telly late last night about R. Fundamentally he said it can only be said to be a number that existed at an earlier time, as the modelling is always retrospective. The intervie...
