Hi Hugh,
Thanks for the tip, I may go along on my XT and watch from Cumberland cottage, a good excuse to get out on the bike!

I live in Buxton so know exactly where you're coming from regarding silly speed limits in Derbyshire & surrounding areas. Don't mind if it really is for safety but, let's face it, it's more for easy revenue. 50 mph speed limits on most of the roads around here are a total joke. No wonder people...

Re: Uk t.e.t trans euro trail changes
Peak District. Hi, I see the 'Broken Road' at Mam Tor is still in the new route. It's ok to ride that downhill (south to north) but up hill (north to south) the gate at the bottom has a flying motorcycle sign so is TRO'd. Therefore the route shown is fine if coming from Wales but if travelling from ...

'I understand the theory of gassing the bike to get the front end up but sooner or later you level off in terms of acceleration and the front comes down. I can't shift back as my wife is there.' Its a bit of a juggling act I'll admit, a bit like skiing, but when you get the hang of it it's great tho...

Re: Sand? Don't you just love it!
The general rule is the bigger or heavier the bike the faster you have to go. On my loaded XT600e, though I have to admit to being a bit of a minimalist luggage wise, I like to get it into 3rd gear whilst up on the pegs, steadily increasing the speed so as to lift the front through acceleration. Goo...
